Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Our therapists are skilled in the detailed evaluation and differential diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries of all kinds. We are well-versed in all sorts of injuries including:

  • Fracture Healing
  • Non-Surgical Spine CarePost-Operative Car
  • Sprains/Strains
  • Motor Vehicle Accident
  • Injured Worker Claims (Workers Compensation Claims)
  • Gait & Balance Issues
  • Osteoarthritis Pain
  • Sports Injuries

To treat these injuries, we have at our disposal manual therapies, exercise prescription, as well as physical therapy modalities (electrical stim, traction, vasopneumatic compression sleeves, etc.) to decrease pain and inflammation, and promote proper healing.  As Physical Therapists/Physical Therapy Assistants, we are not healing you – we are striving to maximize your situation to allow your body to do what it does best, in healing yourself!

The power of touch is an incredibly powerful tool within the Physical Therapist’s wheelhouse.  At CAO Therapy, each session will potentially entail different manual therapy techniques such as myofascial release, joint mobilization, trigger point release, muscle energy technique, strain-counterstrain, as well as many other techniques that are intended to make changes to the system.  From there, complimentary exercises are used and taught in order to re-teach muscles to then utilize and strengthen thru new ranges of motion, and to coordinate in new and improved ways that lead to both decreased pain and improved function!

Success in Physical Therapy relies heavily on patient compliance and a positive attitude.  Come check us out – we’d love to have the opportunity to assist you in addressing your pains and injuries!

The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is redefining the way musculoskeletal care is delivered across the region with locations throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
